ICAD 41-47

This year I’m participating in ICAD (Index Card A Day) again, it’s my second time. There’s a weekly theme with daily prompts. I share them on my Facebook blog the day I create them and I’ll write a weekly post with more info here. You can find the theme and prompts at DaisyYellow.

A quote for day 41, a good excuse to practise some hand lettering.
Day 41
A simple drawing for day 42. The lettering was inspired by an ICAD-card at Instagram.
Day 42
The lyrics of the gayatri mantra for day 43, another excuse to practise hand lettering. You can listen to this mantra here.
Day 43
Embroidery on denim scraps for day 44. It’s all stitched in 2 threads of stranded floss.
Day 44
Let's take a closer look at my stitches.
Running stitch circles in orange.
Tied herringbone stitch in yellow and blue.
Backstitched chain stitch and a star stitch in yellow and red.
Fly stitch and upright cross stitch in green and orange.
A woven and whipped wheel with detached chain stitches in blue and red. There’s a tutorial for a similar wheel on this blog here.
Star stitches in red.
And a buttonhole wheel in green.
Day 45 was inspired by the landscape tutorial  in Tammy’s Index Card Art Tutorials - Explore Pack.
Day 45
For day 46 I translated Tammy’s mandala tutorial to thread. I used fabric, embroidery floss and sequins.
Day 46
And today I made a collage. I used magazine clippings, stickers, acrylic paint and part of my old doodle cloth from 2009 with my experiments for laidwork foundation embroidery.  I wrote about them here.
